Erotic Romance versus Erotica

EROTIC ROMANCE is a love story where the characters’ sexual encounters are graphically described (two fall in love, have graphic sex, and live happily ever after).

EROTICA is a story centered on the characters’ sexploits in which they might also fall in love (two plus people have graphic sex and may/may not fall in love).

However, the lines are not so cut and dry anymore. My novel series bounces back and forth between the two genres with lots of characters, plots and subplots, and graphic content. But to be fair, it's an intricate weaving of complex personalities with layers of meaning ... sex is just one very important piece of a larger tapestry.
